Lots of parts ! Lot of brands ! The aftermarket Costco shop
Editorial by Khoi Truong
In the very beginning of my tuning career, I use to order my parts from a local garage in my home town (a small town in the Quebec province). Of course, they never had what I needed in stock and I had to order via the old way; from a catalogue with 2-3 week wait time for a damn shift knob.
The years passed and my tuner style changed. I found on the Internet pictures of big shops / stores around the world. They were like Walmart but for performance parts. Among them, you may have heard about the famous Super Autobacs. Even though, we don’t have this kind of stores in Canada, our friends from Socal are lucky enough to be able to do their daily shopping at one of the Super Autobacs shops. Unlike me, I’m stuck with my girl going to Costco for groceries …
Ok, I just came back from Costco and went right away to one of my favorite boards, Honda-tech. During my search, I found the link www.yoparts.com. Well, what do you know? I stumbled across the Costco for performance parts!!!!
Yoparts.com offers the same benefits as Costco which mean you pay a monthly ($9,95/month) or yearly($89,95/yr) membership fee, and you get to benefit from low price offers for over 300 000 parts. I have contacted Tom Masiero, one of the Personal Performance Advisor, to get more information.
Tom told me that Yoparts have more than 300 000 product in stock, from simple shift knobs to turbo kits. Furthermore, Yoparts offer about 200 000 OEM products to repair your car. The available brands are largely superior to the average on the market. Even popular Japanese brands like ARC, Bride, Tein are listed. Tom and his team are working hard to bring an average of 10 new brands into the collection every month.
Sure they have a lot of parts in stock, but can we really save money? Since I’m not here to convince you to register for the sake of promotion, I decided to give it a test. I did a test using an old car, my Prelude 4 gen VTEC
As you can see, it’s safe to assume that the general prices are lower than the competition. You don’t believe me? I suggest you to take the free 30 days trial to try your calculations. http://www.yoparts.com/
