If you are an avid sports fan, the year 2004 means a few things to you. The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl, Tampa Bay Lightning’s took home the Stanley Cup and the Boston Red Sox made baseball history. For hardcore car enthusiasts in the Tri-State New York City area, the year 2004 meant the doors of RCT Performance were opened for business. Located in College Point, Queens; Reinhard Chua (Ryan) developed Race Craft Technologies to be a speed shop that caters to all your automotive performance enhancements. It was only a matter of time RCT Performance would gain its popularity since Ryan is a well-known car builder within the industry. He has built personal cars, such as a 500+ RWHP wide bodied MR-2, a supercharged carbon fiber S2K and now toying around with Bavarian Motor Works best, a M5. Knowledge is what sets RCT Performance aside from other shops. This is not your Honda only or German only speed shop. Race Craft Technologies will give a 2jz-gte a turbo upgrade, drop a SR20 into a 240 and refill your Evo with Greddy motor oil. In other words, there is not one specific make or model car that RCT is known for. RCT Performance is known for adding moderate to extreme horsepower to all cars while making them look good as well.

Shortly after RCT Performance’s grand opening, Ryan started Team RCT with a few close friends. The overall goal was to dominate the show circuit with well built cars known for its quality parts. Seeing the cars that represent RCT Performance is like walking into a Work, Volk and HRE rim convention. The qualities of these cars are impeccable. Team RCT quickly achieved their goal by taking home multiple Best Team trophies from Hot Import Nights and other well-known shows (not the parking lot, backyard shows here). It was not a huge surprise since the RCT fleet had more high quality, name brand parts than Paris Hilton’s closet. As you look at the pictures that cover this article, only a fraction of the cars are showcased. This is because the team members never sleep when it comes to enhancing their beloved cars. Work is always getting done for upcoming shows and photo shoots.

Busy and a little bit busier is what describes a typical day at RCT Performance. This is because a tuner shop with a full installation area is a rare thing in dense NYC. It is not uncommon that car lifts are going up and down; a highly tuned car doing horsepower runs on the dyno while a big brake upgrade is being performed, all at the same time. No matter how busy the garage or showroom is, no job is rushed and all installs are well inspected before leaving the grounds of this well tuned shop.
