While growing up around cars most of my life you always hear about rivals for example in muscle cars it was always Chevrolet vs. Ford vs. Chrysler, then as the import scene began to grow it became Domestic vs. Import, however one of the largest growing rivalries in the entire scene is becoming European vs. JDM with the two largest contributors being Honda and Volkswagen. This week we’re still in California where we came across a V-Dub that was ready to party. Carlos started his Jetta project much like any JDM enthusiast; he wanted it simple, function and fully keeping to the car’s origins, hence EDM. To the untrained eye; the exterior of this Jetta may look fairly stock but you really need to have a good knowledge or these cars or a good attention to detail. Most of the exterior of this Volkswagen has been shaved including the antenna, emblems and windshield washers.

The European flavor continues to flow on the exterior of the vehicle as Euro Spec. bumpers and lights replace the North American counterparts. The interior of Carlos’ Jetta is much like a lounge at a high end club. It’s full of lots of custom suede and stitching along with some European lighting from the imported gauge cluster and cabrio switches. Just when you thought Carlos was done his Jetta pulls you back in for a tour under the hood where we find a mild shaved engine bay, lots of custom chromed and polished parts. To help keep this car on the road; Carlos used some of the best parts from Neuspeed, Eibach & Weitec topped off with Kerscher RX Wheels. Congratulations Carlos on a nice build and for keeping the EDM Ying to our JDM Yang.
