The AMG E63, to the eye it can be seen as an executive’s best friend, a discrete highway roller with all the luxuries you’d expect of a high end Merc.
However this is no average businessman’s toy - under the bonnet there’s 6.3 liters of German V8 - pushing out a monstrous 506bhp and 464lb of torque, just about enough to achieve bragging rights over its main rival, the BMW M5.
However whilst packing a tremendous punch, as standard this car maintains an incredibly understated exterior, with the only real giveaway being the large composite brakes tucked beneath the 18″ wheels.
Enter Julpandianto Supandi, bar the smoked rear lights he’s kept this E63’s iridium silver exterior the same, however he’s made a few improvements behind the scenes. The first thing I noticed when I saw the car was the particularly eye catching wheel / brake set up - Julpandianto’s fitted a Big Brake kit with not more then a sheet of papers clearance between the calipers and polished rims.
Looking closer, the Mercs already large brakes have been replaced with 15″ 8 Piston Brembo’s at the front while 13.8″ 4 piston units take charge of anchoring the rear making sure the 506bhp monster will come to a halt when needed. Mean whilst the OEM 18″ wheels have been removed in favor of polished Radenergie R10 wheels, the polished finish catching the sun beautifully as you can see in the pictures.
Suspension wise the E63 is already well set up, however a RENNtech Lowering Module has been fitted it does away with the conventional analogue set up, replaced with 4 digital microprocessors, it’s certainly an impressive device and whilst the retail isn’t cheap it allows full adjustment over each corner, and as you can see it’s given this E63 the perfect stance.
RENNtech, are universally recognized as THE foremost expert on high performance Mercedes Benz tuning and Julpandianto has made full use of they’re products. As well as the lowering module he’s fitted a RENNtech exhaust, whilst the E63 is hardly shy of power the new system helps it breathe and unlocks a few more ponies.
