[[...] Moroso was the first stop in the NOPI Drift Series season and all the drivers put on quite a show. Being the first stop, there was a bit of confusion within the judges, more than a few times they had to stop the drifting to deliberate which driver made it through to the next round, it’s a bit understandable being the first stop of the season, and as the day went on things got a bit more organized. The competition was fierce and the drivers were going all out, there were plenty of “One More Times” as the judges couldn’t make up their mind. After the smoke cleared, it was a big day for the South Florida drifting community with 4 drivers making it to the Top 8 and two drivers in the top three. The final between South Florida’s own Estie Falero and Drift Alliance’s Brian Wilkerson was intense, but Estie came out on top piloting his white Nissan Sileighty to a first place finish. The fight for third place between Juan Henao and Nathan Brasz was just as fierce, but yet another South Florida driver came out on top, as Juan Henao went home with third place.
At the end of this long and crazy weekend, NOPI put on quite an event, with one of the biggest crowds ever seen at Moroso. It set the bar for the 2008 NOPI Tour, remember to check InTunedOnline.com for the coverage of the next NOPI stop. Can’t wait!
