On Sunday, June 1st, our team of reporters left cloudy and rainy Montreal for Quebec in hopes to find nicer weather. This event was long awaited by amateur drifters. The level of competition and the racers’ skillset were definitely on par with our neighbors from the south.

Although the event took place, the mil drain did hinder the driving condition. The wet tracks made it difficult to drift and caused a few accidents. As a result, both cars by team Khumo were damaged. The S14 hit the fence which broke both front and back bumpers. Thankfully the S14 was able to keep going. The S13 hit an R34 from team Toyo and collided with the fence which also costed him his bumper. Team JVC’s S13 also broke both bumpers when it hit the metal fence.

DMCC is the most prestigious drift competitions in Canada. Even the famous team Falkent from the states was drawn to DMCC.
At the end of the day, the famous Marcos Santos lead the competition in the first round with 106 points. The runner up and third place was Fred Girad (96 points) and Carl Nadeau (81 points).

The second round will take place in St-Eustache. For more information, please visit DMCC at http://www.dmccdrift.com
